After a Quite Tumultuous Pre-Release Period, Parker Wierling Delivers the Music Video for “Blur of Love”: A Beautiful Moving Collage

After quite a tumultuous pre-release period, Atlanta musician Parker Wierling and director Rubnogs have managed to work things out and deliver the “Blur of Love” music video to the world today. “Blur of Love” is the first single from Wierling’s upcoming debut album. It’s a surprisingly danceable tune whose bass and guitar riffs are hidden amongst the reeds of an unsuspecting acoustic melody. The single is a balanced and easy listen, giving us a taste of the nostalgic alternative/indie rock to come on the rest of the record.

The music video was made in collaboration with Hot Shoe Media, produced by Maggie Foster with artistic direction by B1G REV. It features Wierling singing “Blur of Love” against a backdrop of hazy, flashing stars. Cheekily breaking the fourth wall, we switch back and forth between the video itself and shots of the video’s set, with a crew (including Rubnogs himself) looking judiciously toward Wierling swaying back and forth, couched between two speakers. And if you thought Wierling looked a little different for a second there, that was his souped-up body double, played by Luke Roness (the brother of fellow Atlanta musician Atticus Roness). Thankfully, Roness was able to swoop in at the last minute after the original bodybuilder slated for the role had to drop out.

The video for “Blur of Love” feels like a beautifully amusing moving collage, so we’re really glad that Rubnogs and Wierling squashed their beef and released it together. Despite whatever drama may have ensued, Wierling says it was “One of the easiest and most fun sets I've ever been a part of.”
