Mainline Music Fest Aimed a Spotlight on Atlanta's Sound
Mainline's annual music festival came back around the weekend of September 11th-13th with an incredible lineup, majorly made up of artist's representing Atlanta's sound. This year's festival mostly took place in Little Five Points with the two big bills being at Star Bar, Aisle 5 and the launch party at Criminal Records earlier in the week. The launch party at Criminal Records featured performances from Holden Fincher's major as well as Janie Danger. If you saw our latest Criminal Records interview with Holden Fincher of major, you may be able to hear some of Janie's set.
Headlining the first night at Star Bar was MUELAS, who really got going at the end of last year. MUELAS released their debut EP BELLOW earlier this summer, becoming one of the punk scene here in Atlanta's favorite new bands on the block, fronted by Susy Reyes, formerly of Sarah and the Safe Word, another legendary Atlanta punk act.

Other bands on the bill we were excited for night one included Janie Danger as well as Safety Switch, a newer band we here at Kapoorhouse have been very stoked on. Janie Danger the same day released their third album Crisis Acting which made her set a must see for the festival.

Night two of Maineline Music Fest saw KH crowned Atlanta-supergroup, Scattrbrain headlining Aisle 5 right off the release of their debut album, Scattrbrain & the Unwavering Self Doubt, having debuted at the beginning of this month. Their set featured a heavy helping of the tracks from their album and frontman, Grip, carried the weight of every song on his sleeve that night.

The climactic second night featured an incredible supporting lineup featuring major, who released their debut album Silver Plastic Forks a little while ago and Mallbangs, who we have been fans of for a long time now, as well as some great sets later in the night from BAUMS and CDSM who we weren't too familiar with before this night but left wildly impressed. Mainline has been spotlighting and giving a platform to artists from Atlanta that they are truly passionate about for years and it really shows when they're annual festival returns each year.
