Our Night at Idobi Radio's Summer School 2026

Idobi Radio has been building out their own corner of the punk world for years now. In 2024, it only made sense they bring the music they love straight to the fans who have been tuning into their content, thus creating Summer School—A North American cross country theater tour that brings together today’s most exciting pop punk bands in a way you wouldn’t see anywhere else and with local openers in every city. This year marked Idobi’s third Summer School whose lineup featured: Honey Revenge, Games We Play, Winona Fighter, South Arcade and Chase Petra.
I got to experience Idobi Radio’s Summer School Tour in Atlanta, and it was quite an exciting experience. The order of the lineup changed every night, so it’d always be a surprise of who’s coming out next, which I found to be really very exciting. Fans would start crying out, jumping to the ceiling like they never had before when their favorite artist’s name would slowly emerge onto the large screens that were on both sides of the stage before making their entrance on stage. I was most excited to see Honey Revenge for the first time; their energy was exhilarating, living up to the online hype and then some. It was also great to see Games We Play once again, on a lineup such as this especially. I think I'm actually in the band now.
Rather than house music playing from a makeshift Spotify playlist between sets, the screens at either side of the stage would roll full music videos and exclusive updates from bands that the fans in the theater most definitely mess with, leaving the entire experience feeling more intimate.
The local opener kicking off the night in Atlanta was Sarah and the Safe Word which is a band I've seen play at the Masquerade at least three times now. You could even go as far to say they are one of the founders of Atlanta’s current rock scene in line with Upchuck, Sword II and Microwave.
