It feels like each day, more and more people are talking about This is Lorelei, whether it's: “Did you know that’s the guy from Water From Your Eyes?” or discussing the blending genres to find that exact, specific sound. Their latest album, The Singer in My Band, solidifies that Nate Amos is on the right track to finding his best place.

Today, Parker Wierling of Atlanta releases the next single, "Taking Chances", from his upcoming debut album, of which the title and release date have yet to be revealed.

Couched in an intimate yet disquieting seriousness, Atlanta's Tom Sinclair aka Elesa Sparkle’s debut album Helluva Engineer sees him working with an expanded sample palette, new emotional dimensions, and downtempo walls of sound. This certainly seems like a natural evolution for Tom, whose moderately Kanye-esque deployment of a diverse array of textures and samples has been a core feature of his work since the initial early 20’s drops like 2024’s Hollow or ICU. Unique to this

At the tail end of their eastern U.S. tour, Athens-based band Penny Loafer made one final stop at The Drunken Unicorn to celebrate the release of their debut record, Fixer, on October 2nd.

ADÉLA in Atlanta (Photo: Sam Kapoor) Just in the last couple of months, the name ADÉLA has become known worldwide. Having rised to super stardom with “Ain’t in LA” and now “Nicole Kidman” off her debut album, PRIMA, hitting #1 in the US on Spotify just in the last week, ADÉLA is competing with the biggest names in music. ADÉLA, who seemingly has natural pink hair according to her fans, has been on tour since the end of August, kicking off in London before the release of the a

Last Saturday night, New York City duo Fcukers made their Atlanta debut at Terminal West before their high anticipated set at Shaky Knees Music Festival the following day.

Mainline's annual music festival came back around the weekend of September 11th-13th with an incredible lineup, majorly made up of artist's representing Atlanta's sound. This year's festival mostly took place in Little Five Points with the two big bills being at Star Bar, Aisle 5 and the launch party at Criminal Records earlier in the week.

Your Perfect Real Life is a sprawling, motorized, and largely intentional controlled demolition of many of Improvement Movement’s signature forms.

The songs in Silver Plastic Forks are full of gripping moments, from the muffled screams of “Nu Metal Friends” to the Truth Club-esque syncopation of the title line in “7 Year Itch” to the near-ominousness of the breakdowns in “CRV.” Major manages tension and texture extremely well, slicing seconds of calm with steamrolling guitars and letting vocals linger in the background to brighten and soften as needed.

Swapmeet’s Debut Album Mount Zero Impeccably Toes the Line Between Soft and Punchy Indie Rock

It was surreal to see hey, nothing play such an intimate show, considering how far they've come in their career.

Aldous Harding’s music has never been crystal clear. She’s known to weave songs full of strange images and nonsensical lyrics, pulling you in and out of different realities and characters using her distinctive armory of voices. But something about her newest record, Train on the Island, feels like she’s letting the listener in a little closer than usual.

On bitknot, feeble little horse converts what’s been, historically, a kind of hardened laptop twee into something new, confident, and legitimately different. This album sees them shape torqued walls of emotion and sound into a driving, dynamic kind of self-presence operating in a field of illusions.

Any night at Variety Playhouse is going to be a 50/50 chance that they’ll have a photo pit. Unfortunately for me and the other seven photographers covering American Football’s fourth self-titled LP show, there was no pit in sight. It was clear from the moment I got there, there was no way I would be getting to the front. Or so I thought. As soon as the band trickled onto stage, warming the crowd up with “Man Overboard,” the entire crowd was entranced. As I tried to make my wa

Only a couple seasons into 2026, the artists we love have put their whole heart into each and every one of their songs, and it has shown. Here are our top 20 songs of 2026, so far, in no particular order. My New Band Believe "Love Story" "Love Story" could very well be the most beautiful song Cameron Picton has ever written, the way the track slowly builds and falls like the ups and downs of a love story. Olivia Rodrigo "The Cure" As so many have stated already, "The Cure"

There is a palpable power and message to the indie, alternative, and pop albums put out this year, and below are our favorites, in no particular order besides release date.

This year marked Idobi’s third Summer School whose lineup featured: Honey Revenge, Games We Play, Winona Fighter, South Arcade and Chase Petra.

Ensconced and sculpted by their standard downtempo beats and murky synths, the narrative core of this sprawling project is fairly straightforwardly a meditation on the strangeness of religion, but also, in particular the strangeness of the mismatch between our technical abilities as a species and our capacity to think through their implications.
